My daughter’s teacher read aloud the first Boxcar Children book in her kindergarten class, and we’ve continued the series at home! It’s been years since I read them myself. 🙂

Brown Girl Dreaming is magnificent. I also write middle grade verse novels and was unsure how Jackie would pull off a memoir in this format, but my word, she did it (and did it brilliantly).
